Teleprompter for Loom Recordings
Loom rewards one clean take. Open picture-in-picture in GoTeleprompter for the intro, keep the floating script off the recorded screen while you demo, and speak at a steady WPM.
Open the free web teleprompter. On Chrome, Edge, or Firefox you can already use picture-in-picture — a floating Document PiP window with your scrolling script — so cues sit beside Loom on one monitor without a sticky note or second display. Put the full window on another monitor or a phone beside the webcam if you prefer. Share only what the audience should see: GoTeleprompter does not hide from screen capture, so window choice still matters.
Who this setup is for
- SaaS founders recording product walkthroughs
- Sales and CS sending personalized Loom messages
- Marketers shipping explainers without a studio
- Course creators who want fewer retakes on short lessons
How to use a teleprompter with Loom
- Write a Loom-sized script: hook, three beats, clear ask. Paste it into the web teleprompter.
- Set speed for speaking (often 130–150 WPM for short async videos; slower if you demo UI).
- For a camera-only Loom, open picture-in-picture (Chrome/Edge/Firefox) and park the floating script near the webcam — or use a second monitor / phone.
- For a screen + cam Loom, keep PiP or the full teleprompter window on a display Loom is not recording — or capture only the demo window.
- Record. If you need a face-to-camera take on iPhone instead, use the GoTeleprompter iOS app to read and record in one pass.

Tips that keep delivery natural
- Picture-in-picture is already in the web tool — handy when Loom and cues share one laptop.
- Script the intro heavily; use short cues while clicking through the product.
- Do not capture the full desktop if the prompter or PiP is visible on it.
- Browser test recording in the web tool caps at 60 seconds — use Loom (or iOS) for longer takes.
What GoTeleprompter does and does not do here
The web teleprompter already has desktop picture-in-picture: float a small scrolling script (with play/pause) next to Loom — especially convenient for meetings on a laptop. You also get WPM scroll, font and theme controls, mirror H/V, and a read-line cue. PiP works in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on desktop (not Safari or mobile). Scripts stay on your device. It does not float invisibly over Loom, does not use voice scrolling, and does not exclude itself from screen share — share the right window (or keep PiP / the full window off the captured display).

FAQ
- Will the teleprompter show up in my Loom recording?
- It will if Loom captures the display or window that shows the script (including PiP). Keep the prompter on another monitor, use a phone beside the camera for talking-head shots, or capture only the app you are demonstrating. GoTeleprompter does not auto-exclude itself from Loom.
- Does picture-in-picture work with Loom?
- Yes on Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. Float the script for eye line on camera-only takes; move PiP off the captured display for screen recordings.
- Is there a built-in Loom teleprompter?
- Loom does not replace a dedicated teleprompter workflow. GoTeleprompter is a free browser (and iOS) option you run beside Loom — no Loom account connection required.
- Can I use this on Windows for Loom?
- Yes. Open the free web teleprompter in Chrome or Edge next to Loom, then use PiP if you want. There is no native Windows GoTeleprompter app.
- Should I use the iOS app or the web tool for Loom?
- Use the web tool when Loom runs on your computer. Use the iOS app when you want to film a talking-head video on iPhone/iPad with the script over the camera.
