Teleprompter for Tella Recordings
Tella is built for polished product recordings. Pair it with GoTeleprompter picture-in-picture outside the capture so you look at the lens while you narrate.
Open the free web teleprompter. On Chrome, Edge, or Firefox you can already use picture-in-picture — a floating Document PiP window with your scrolling script — so cues sit beside Tella on one monitor without a sticky note or second display. Put the full window on another monitor or a phone beside the webcam if you prefer. Share only what the audience should see: GoTeleprompter does not hide from screen capture, so window choice still matters.
Who this setup is for
- Product marketers recording Tella demos
- Founders who prefer Tella over Loom for branded takes
- Teams standardizing async updates
- Anyone who needs a script without a Mac overlay app
How to use a teleprompter with Tella
- Draft a tight demo script and paste it into the web teleprompter.
- Open picture-in-picture (Chrome/Edge/Firefox) and place it outside Tella’s capture — or use a second display.
- Record in Tella as usual — camera, screen, or both — without including the prompter window or PiP.
- Use slower WPM while clicking UI; slightly faster for talking-head intros.
- For phone-only talking heads, record in the GoTeleprompter iOS app instead, then upload if needed.

Tips that keep delivery natural
- PiP is convenient on one laptop; same capture discipline as Loom — never full-desktop capture with the script visible.
- Script the intro and the ask; cue the middle while you click.
- Browser test recording in GoTeleprompter is capped at 60 seconds — use Tella for longer demos.
What GoTeleprompter does and does not do here
The web teleprompter already has desktop picture-in-picture: float a small scrolling script (with play/pause) next to Tella — especially convenient for meetings on a laptop. You also get WPM scroll, font and theme controls, mirror H/V, and a read-line cue. PiP works in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on desktop (not Safari or mobile). Scripts stay on your device. It does not float invisibly over Tella, does not use voice scrolling, and does not exclude itself from screen share — share the right window (or keep PiP / the full window off the captured display).
